The IGNITE project provides cutting edge opportunities to work with some of the world’s best researchers on a topic of strategic importance to patients, clinicians, health care policy makers and the pharmaceutical industry. This project team’s experience and advancement of gene discovery and the ethical challenges therein, is highly regarded throughout the research community.
The project is based at Dalhousie University, a world class research university, conveniently located adjacent to Halifax’s health care district, providing opportunities for meaningful collaboration between patients, clinicians, genetic counselors and researchers. Dalhousie consistently ranks among the best academic settings to work in, according to Science magazine.
Halifax has a long list of things that make it a great place to live. Small and safe with big city conveniences such as great restaurants and cultural offerings. Easy access to bigger centres like Toronto, Montreal and New York. Countless beaches, coves, parks and other beautiful natural spaces within a short drive of the city (and many within city limits). Five post-secondary institutions. Great school and health systems, affordable housing, and active, close-knit communities. These are just some of the reasons that we like to call this place home.
