The official launch of the IGNITE project took place on Thursday, Oct. 6th at the Life Sciences Research Institute on the Dalhousie campus in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Over 100 guests celebrated this significant success, and heard more about the impacts of orphan diseases and the IGNITE project's plans to develop information and treatments to help.
The highlight of the event was the moving story by Cathy and Tarah Sawler, who shared their experience with an orphan disease known as FEVR, which has left Tarah, 13, completely blind.
